With the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in Austria, Nigeria’s Super Eagles drew 1-1 when both sides met on Tuesday in an international friendly.
After losing 0-1 to Algeria’s single strike by Ramy Bensebaini in the 6th minute, the Super Eagles gained a greater result against the Tunisians.
Having defeated Sudan 3-0 on Friday before their friendly with Nigeria, Tunisia had a
far better outing.
Saif-Eddine Khaoui, Ali Maaloul and Anis Ben Slimane’s goals confirmed that Tunisia joined the conference with the greatest hope toward Nigeria.
Even prior to the commercial break, they bounced back to bring Nigeria to a 1-1 draw.
The three essential lessons were observed (learnt) from the foreign friendly following the assessments draw.
Iheanacho is again to reckoning
Kelechi Iheanacho, the superstar of Nigeria, was on hand to smash the ball into the back ofthe net against Tunisia.
Before scoring Nigeria the 1-0 lead they deserve in the affair, he did most of the good work from team skipper Ahmed Musa.
As the Leicester City man made his presence known in transfer, Iheanacho and Nigeria had to wait 21 minutes to score a goal on the night.
After years of goal-drought for Nigeria, it was Kelechi’s first goal on the international stage.
At the King Power Stadium, in an international career that started with a surge of goals but
particularly when he moved from Manchester City to Leicester City, things went from bad to worse.
But he has a goal against the North Africans that has defied him for years. He and the
Nigerians will hope for more, as it will be key to the national team’s reputation and career.
Although soccer-loving Nigerians hope to reclaim the great moment and promises he has shown for the Golden at the u-17 stage.
2013 Eaglets in UAE.
Rohr not good in pleasant
The Tremendous Eagles gaffer could also be beneath intense criticism by any means kind Nigerians as anticipated at all times.
Failing to defeat either Algeria (0-1 beat) or Tunisia (1-1 draw) could give the technical team more notice and inspection.
A lot could be inferred from the gaffer’s time in charge of the Super Eagles with the recent
180 minutes played both against North Africans and without a win.
He’s not been good in pleasant video games in any respect as now we have seen in all regards.
Whether or not he was taking part in in opposition to Brazil, Uganda, Algeria, Ukraine and co he by no means received any of them.
He hasn’t even registered a win at Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba against Zimbabwe and
this should be taken more severely than claiming that it’s only because it’s a friendly game.
While friendly matches are not intended for the sole purpose of victory, winning (recording)
in some of these games may be a good tonic ahead of important games such as next month’s all-important African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Eagles lacked midfield depth
The Tremendous Eagles could have gotten the expertise of Alex Iwobi to make do of within the Algeria and Tunisia pleasant.
However the end result of those two video games and the extent of efficiency we’ve seen
has steered that Iwobi (high quality) alone is just not sufficient to do the enterprise for Nigeria.
He has to be fitted with added value , particularly in the midfield section that attacks. He was introduced next to Frank Onyeka,
Mikel Agu whereas Samson Tijani got here on for him with 5 minutes left to play in opposition to Algeria.
However the Eagles midfield requires extra vitality and structural platform on path to the ultimate third.
As was noticed against the two Norths, this is what might be lacking.
Sides of Africa. The Tremendous Eagles expect Ovie Ejaria and Kelechi Nwakali to flood into the midfield of the group.
Whereas the chase for Eberechi Eze and Joshua Zirkzee should take on another aspect (be stepped up) with the goal of securing them for Nigeria and making them obtainable for the Super Eagles any time soon.
